Happy New Years, travelers! Is anyone traveling anywhere fun to ring in 2013? I have never gone on vacation for New Years, but feel that it would be so much fun and a great experience. I looked up the top New Years Eve destinations in the USA and definitely agree that these cities would be so exciting to see. I have been DYING to go to Alaska, but am not sure I would want to go to Anchorage in the middle of winter! Despite being a snow bunny, I think that might be a little too cold for me! Seattle is also on the top of my destination bucket list since there is so much to do there. I’ve also never been anywhere in the Northwest, so that region will surely be next on my list.
I have been to St. Croix before, and just love the US Virgin Islands. St. Croix is a stunningly beautiful island with so much culture within the Dutch and the French side of the island, and breath-taking scenery. After reading about this island’s New Years celebrations, I think that I will be ringing in 2014 here! The Christmas and New Year season is a month long celebration starting the first Thursday in December and lasting until the first Saturday in January, I’m pretty sure you won’t have a hard time finding something to do here! Between a boat festival, music, calypso contests, and the crowning of the King and Queen, how could you not get excited about celebrating the holiday season here?!
Each city on this list has so many fun traditions, between the Peach Drop in Atlanta, the Bay Boat Tour in San Francisco, or a dazzling light display at the Space Needle in Seattle, there is something fun, authentic, and traditional for each city. Have any of you ever been to any of these destinations? I want to hear about it! What are the pros and cons of each?! Let me know, and I hope you all have a fabulous, fun, and fantastic New Years 🙂
